Ali'i Health Center (AHC) was formed in 2007 and has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. AHC, located in the Keauhou Shopping Center, brings Primary Care and Specialty services such as; Cardiology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Women’s Health and Urology to the Big Island Community.  Family Medicine physician

Ali`i Health Center, affiliated with Kona Community Hospital/Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, is a private non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization, providing multi-specialty outpatient care in Kona. We are seeking full-time board-certified Family Medicine Primary Care Physicians to join our `Ohana and be part of an integrative primary care team serving our community with compassionate care. Nurse Practitioner – Gastroenterology 

We are currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner for our Gastroenterology Department. Ideal candidate will be provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age. This position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients and co-workers. Responsibilities: Candidate will be joining a busy, established Gastroenterology team consisting of 1 Physician Assistant and 1 Physician. Provides pre-op and post-op patient education. Coordinates diagnostic studies, consultations, procedures and communications. Manages post-op care of patients including daily rounds, discharge, patient/family education and follow up clinic visits. Will support entire Gastroenterology Team. Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program. Experience working within gastroenterology is preferred. Current Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Hawaii. Current certification in CPR or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must successfully complete Ali`i Health Center credentialing process prior to practice. ​ ​ ​

Surgical Scrub Technician - Surgery Center
$10K SIGN-ON BONUS

Ali`i Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently looking for a Surgical Scrub Technician to join our fast growing organization. Responsibilities: Assist the physician during procedures. Assist in transport of the patient to recovery with RN and Anesthesia Care Provider as needed. Prepare room, anticipate and check all instruments and equipment needs prior to procedure. Assist in the positioning of the patient as needed. Meet current documentation standards and policies and complete them during each workday. Maintain logs needed in the cleaning area for chemicals and equipment use. Qualifications: Graduate for an accredited Surgical Technical School 1-3 years of experience, preferably in a peri-operative setting or in an Operation Room. National Surgical Technician Certification preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will be responsible for providing direct nursing services including, but not limited to, patient intake, vital signs, provide assistance, education and counseling in conformance with clinical protocols. Assists in the smooth and efficient flow of patient care. The LPN/LVN ensures that the delivery of high quality, cost efficient, culturally sensitive services comply with all Federal, State and Local agency policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Clinical · Patient screening – takes patient history, vital signs, and accurately documents information in patient’s medical record. · Prepares patients for varied exams and/or test(s). · Assists provider with procedures and/or minor surgery. · Administers various injections and/or vaccines. · Performs ECG’s, pulse oximetry, and other procedures specific to specialty. · Exhibits and promotes a standard of excellence in the performance of all duties and interactions with patients, co-workers and outside contacts. · Assists in monitoring, researching and returning patient calls as directed by the provider. Clerical · Answers telephones, writes clearly and accurately, is precise. · Competent computer capabilities. · Monitors and orders supplies to ensure adequate supply at all times. · Pulls and files charts as needed to assist in office workflow and load. Other · Works as part of a team, demonstrates willingness to assist with wherever and whatever is needed. · Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. · Exhibits and promotes a standard of excellence on the performance of all duties and interactions with patients, co-workers and outside contacts. · Is flexible in hours and work locations, as needed. · Provides clinical guidance to Medical Assistants as requested. · Maintains current state licensure. · Other duties as assigned. LPN/LVN Job Description - continued MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Appropriate state license. 2. At least three years of relevant work experience preferred. 3. Medical terminology / transcription preferred. 4. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Ability to communicate well with all levels of healthcare professionals. 6. Possesses basic typing and computer skills. 7. Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service and adherence to company protocol in hectic and sometimes hostile situations. 8. Self motivated, needing little supervision. 9. Detail oriented. 10. Passes initial competency and annual review.

Medical Assistants

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing direct clinical services across to include, but not limited to, patient screening, vital signs, assistance to medical provider, and accurate documentation in patient’s medical record. The Medical Assistant ensures that the delivery of high quality, cost efficient, culturally sensitive services comply with all Federal, State and Local agency policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  Reviews charts prior to patients' scheduled appointments to ensure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed and that reports have been returned and are accessible to the provider. Review charts for current medications, treatment, height, weight and health issues. Obtains and records patient's vital signs, temperature, pulse blood pressure and reasons for visits. Directs patients to examination rooms; assist in preparing patients for examination. Notifies provider of patient's arrival and readiness for their examination. Assist providers with patient's examination and procedures, including (but not limited to) surgical procedures, GYN exams, diagnostic studies and treatments. Operates and monitor functioning of equipment, passes instruments to provider and comforts patient(s.) Recognizes emergency situations, seeks assistance and intervenes appropriately. Monitor patient during and following procedures; look for reactions and other visible complications; reacts to emergency situations appropriately. Administers medications by injection at the direction of the provider. Collects and checks urine specimens. Participates in quality assurance activities and competency training. Sets up instruments trays for procedures, including sterile procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Requires a high school diploma or GED. Completion of M.A. program or additional clinical training preferred. One year related work experience in a medical office. 1-2 years MA work experience required. Medical terminology / transcription preferred. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with all levels of healthcare professionals. Possesses basic typing and computer skills. Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service and adherence to company protocol in hectic and sometimes hostile situations. Must be self motivated and detailed oriented.

Patient Service Representatives

The Patient Services Representative acts as the point of contact by greeting patients and visitors in person and over the phone and directing them to the appropriate clinic personnel. The Patient Services Representative ensures that the delivery of high quality, cost efficient, culturally sensitive services comply with all Federal, State and Local agency policy and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: · Answers the telephone promptly and courteously, refers calls to the appropriate area and identifies and refers urgent calls correctly. · Makes and assists in making initial and return appointments, confirming the patient’s current address, phone number, and insurance information, and updates these in the computer system, or as appropriate. · Registers patients, generating required paperwork for a patient visit. · Calls patients to remind them of their scheduled visit at least one business day before. · Secures patients medical record and notifies clinical staff of patient’s arrival. · Correctly and timely enters charge data as required. · Monitors status of reception areas, alerting clinical staff of unusually long patient waiting times or obtaining assistance for any unusual situations including patient/family conflicts. · Performs other clerical support functions including filing, scheduling, and documentation of appointments or referrals, completes medical release forms, documents no shows in the chart and in the computer system. Pulls and prepares medical records/charts the day before the patient’s appointment. · Exhibits and promotes a standard of excellence in the performance of all duties and interactions with patients, co-workers, and outside contacts. · Maintains flexibility in hours and locations, as needed. · Forwards phones to answering machine at the end of the day (if applicable). · Keeps reception area presentable; straightens reception area and waiting room, keep areas neat and orderly. · Pulls and files charts as needed to assist in office workflow and load. · Works as part of a team, demonstrates willingness to assist with wherever and whatever is needed. · Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. · Other duties as assigned. Patient Services Representative Job Description – continued MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Requires a high school diploma. 2. Must have at least one year of relevant work experience, preferably in a medical setting or an equivalent combination of training and experience in order to perform office routines and clerical support functions. 3. Medical terminology / transcription preferred. 4. Minimum typing speed 40 wpm. 5. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to greet patients and visitors in person or over the phone. 6. Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service and company protocol in hectic and sometimes hostile situations. 7. Ability to communicate well with all levels of healthcare professional. 8. Self motivated, needing little supervision. 9. Detail oriented.
