Dr. Clayton (Clay) Foster, MD: At a Glance

  • Medical Excellence: Earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama and pursued advanced training with a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado.

  • Pioneer in Telemedicine: After three successful years in a conventional Infectious Disease practice in Denver, Dr. Foster innovatively established his solo telemedicine venture.

  • Hawaii Connection: A transformative trip in 2021 led Dr. Foster and his beloved wife, Kelly, to make Hawaii Island their home.

  • Double Board Certification: Dr. Foster proudly holds board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.

  • Patient-Centered Philosophy: Believes that the linchpins of effective medical care are clear communication and a holistic "big picture" view.

  • Tech-Savvy Care: Spearheads the use of telemedicine to expand the reach of infectious disease expertise to every corner of Hawaii.

Clay Foster, MD

Dr Foster can help to diagnose and treat all types of acute and chronic infections.  He is currently accepting new patients 18 and over.

Dr Clayton (Clay) Foster, MD, strives to deliver quality, patient-centered care with a focus on expanding access to Infectious Disease expertise using telemedicine. Dr Foster believes that clear communication and a “big picture” perspective are essential to medical practice, and he endeavors to incorporate these principles into every encounter.

 

Dr Foster earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Infectious Diseases, at the University of Colorado. After three years in traditional Infectious Disease practice, he struck out on his own to create a solo telemedicine practice in Denver. Following a visit to Hawaii Island in the summer of 2021, he and his wife, Kelly, decided to relocate.

 

Dr Foster is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. He currently resides in Kailua-Kona, where he enjoys hiking, snorkeling and practicing aikido in his spare time.
